How much does the PANCE cost?

As of October 2026, the PANCE costs $550. You pay it to NCCPA with your application. Every retake costs the full fee again, and you lose the fee if you miss your window, turn up late or cancel too late, so plan your date carefully.

Fees at a glance

WhatCost (October 2026)
PANCE application and exam$550
NCCPA PANCE practice exam (optional)$50 each
Returned check or declined card$35 service charge
Replacement certificate$50
PANRE or PANRE-LA (later, to keep certification)$350

All fees are paid in U.S. dollars. Your application isn’t processed until NCCPA has the full payment.

When you lose the fee

NCCPA’s policies say you forfeit the whole $550 and have to reapply and pay again if you:

  • Don’t test within your exam timeframe
  • Cancel or reschedule with Pearson VUE less than one business day before your appointment
  • Arrive late and aren’t admitted, or arrive without the right ID
  • Don’t complete all parts of the exam

If you can’t test in your window

Cancelling your appointment with Pearson VUE isn’t the same as withdrawing. If you decide not to test in your timeframe, you must ask NCCPA in writing (mail, email or fax) to withdraw your application. If you have a date booked, NCCPA must get the request at least one business day before it. Once you start the exam, there’s no refund or credit.

After you pass

Staying certified has its own costs. You log 100 CME credits and pay a certification maintenance fee every two years, and you take a recertification exam, PANRE or PANRE-LA, once every 10 years. Each costs $350. NCCPA’s maintenance page didn’t list the maintenance fee amount when we checked.
