Three ways to take the real test
| How | Where | Who arranges it |
|---|---|---|
| In person | Your college’s test center, or another approved center | Your college |
| Remote proctoring service | At home or anywhere private and quiet | Your college, using an approved vendor |
| Video call | At home, with a certified proctor watching over video | Your college |
Not every college offers all three. Ask your testing office which ones you can use.
What you need for a remote test
- A private, quiet room. Public places like libraries or cafes aren’t allowed.
- A computer with a webcam and a steady internet connection.
- A photo ID that the proctor can check on camera. A photo of your ID on your phone doesn’t count.
- Blank scratch paper. You show both sides to the camera at the start and tear it up on camera at the end.
- A voucher or login from your college. A proctor always logs you in. You never get the login details yourself.
Remote TSIA2 in Texas
If you’re taking TSIA2 instead, College Board only allows remote testing through the Remote Live option, with a live proctor. Your college will tell you how to book it.
Practice online for free
College Board’s ACCUPLACER Study App runs in your web browser at practice.accuplacer.org. You create a free account and take practice tests that look like the real ones, with the same highlighter and calculators. Our free practice test on this site works in any browser too.
