We couldn’t read VicRoads’ or South Australia’s official pages when we checked in October 2026, so Victoria and SA aren’t covered here. Tasmania, the ACT and the NT aren’t covered either. If you live there, check your own state or territory’s transport website.
When you pay
In NSW you pay when you book online. In Queensland you pay before you’re given access to the online test. In WA you pay at the service centre on the day.
Help with costs in NSW
The Driver Licensing Access Program may help people from disadvantaged or Aboriginal backgrounds in NSW. Ask Service NSW on 13 22 13.
Check before you pay
Fees usually change on 1 July each year. Look at your state’s fee page the week you book.
