Book in five steps
- Check you need PTE Academic. It’s the one for Australian and New Zealand visas and for universities. For a UK visa you need PTE Academic UKVI, and for Canadian immigration, PTE Core.
- Create a myPTE account. Enter your names exactly as they appear in your passport, with given names in one field and your family name in the other.
- Search for availability. Choose a test centre, then a date and time. The local price shows once you choose where you’ll test.
- If you’re applying for an Australian or New Zealand visa, tick the box to share your scores with Home Affairs or Immigration New Zealand.
- Pay online. You’ll get a confirmation email, so check every detail in it.
Before you book
- You need a valid, non-expired passport on test day. The name, date of birth, citizenship and gender must exactly match your booking.
- If you’re under 18, a Parental Consent Form must be completed and approved.
- If you need adjustments for a disability or medical reason, request them before you book.
- You can only have one test booked at a time.
Changing the date
You can reschedule for free if there are more than 14 full days until your test. Inside 14 days you can’t reschedule. You’d have to cancel, with a 50% refund or none, and book again. To change a booking, log in to myPTE and go to My Activity.
Booking a retake
You can book another test once you’ve received the scores from your last one, even in the same month. The limit is 12 tests in any 12-month period. If you need more, Pearson has an exception form.
