How much does PTE Academic cost in Australia?

What test centres listed in October 2026

Pearson doesn’t publish a single Australian price on a page you can link to. Its booking page asks you to choose a test centre to see your local price. Two official test centres in Melbourne publish theirs:

• The price you see in myPTE when you book is the one that counts.
• Pearson takes payment by card and some digital wallets, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on your country.
• If a payment is declined or reversed, Pearson cancels the booking or the results.

Changing or cancelling your booking

You can reschedule one booking up to 6 times. Pearson may allow a free change for illness or a family emergency, if you apply within 72 hours of your appointment with evidence. That’s at Pearson’s discretion.

Arrive late, or without the right passport, and you can’t sit the test. You lose the fee.

Other costs to know about

• Sending your scores is free, to as many universities and organisations as you like.
• A rescore is a paid service. Pearson doesn’t publish its price on its public pages, and it says your overall score is unlikely to change.
• Retaking costs the full fee again. You can book the next test as soon as you have your results.

What official practice costs

Pearson charges for practice in US dollars. As of October 2026, one Scored Practice Test is US$35.99, and AI Practice is US$29.99 for 7 days, US$59.99 for a month or US$89.99 for 3 months. A free myPTE account includes guided practice tests and a free tier of AI Practice, so try those first.
