The real test is on paper
Buckinghamshire’s two papers are multiple choice, and children mark their answers on a separate answer sheet. Northern Ireland’s SEAG papers also use an answer sheet, sat at an assessment centre you choose. Neither can be taken online.
So whatever you use at home, make sure your child also practises on paper with an answer sheet. The free familiarisation papers are ideal for that.
Free online practice
- Our 20-question practice test: verbal reasoning, English and maths, with an explanation for every answer.
- Bond 11+ has free practice pages and interactive quizzes on its website.
- Oak National Academy has free Year 6 English and maths lessons, which cover the curriculum the 11+ builds on.
Paid online practice
| Service | Price (October 2026) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Bond 11+ Online | £65 a year or £7.50 a month | Auto-marked tests in maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, with timed mocks and progress reports |
| Atom Learning | From £39.99 a month, or £31.99 a month paid yearly | Adaptive practice. The £59.99 Exam prep plan adds verbal and non-verbal reasoning, and the £69.99 plan adds unlimited mock tests |
Both cover more than one area’s test style, so they won’t match your local paper exactly. GL Assessment says the timings and number of questions in your local test may differ from its own practice material too.
How to use online practice well
- Little and often beats long sessions. Twenty minutes a few times a week is plenty for most Year 5 and 6 children.
- Go through wrong answers together. The explanation matters more than the score.
- Switch to timed paper practice in the last few weeks, so the real format feels familiar.
