Start with the free official tools from NCSBN. The test plans tell you exactly what’s tested, and the Candidate Tutorial shows you the real exam screens. Most people then add one paid question bank with NCLEX-style case studies. You don’t need several. In October 2026 the paid options below ran from $29.99 for a month of an app to $399 for a live course.

The most-rated NCLEX app on the App Store: the RN app has 4.8 stars from about 31,300 ratings, and the PN app 4.8 from about 10,800. It has 4,000+ RN questions, including select-all-that-apply and case studies, and a timed simulation. Its “triple your money back” promise has conditions, so read them first.

Nurse educators post free NCLEX reviews on topics like lab values, priority questions and pharmacology. They’re unofficial, and anything filmed before April 2023 predates the Next Generation NCLEX case studies, so check the upload date.
