Put in your exam date and the planner spreads 33 short lessons, from vitamins and PES statements to food cost and cooling rules, over the days you have left. The last two days go to our 20 practice questions and a redo of the ones you missed. Nutrition Care is 45% of the exam through 2026, so give those lessons extra time.
Pick the date of your test and how long you can study each day. You’ll get a plan that takes you right up to the test.
How should you study for the RD exam?
- Download the study outline for your test date: 2022-2026 for exams through December 31, 2026, or 2027-2031 from January 1, 2027.
- Rate yourself on each topic in the outline: strong, okay or weak.
- Give the most time to the biggest domain. Through 2026 that’s Nutrition Care (45%). From 2027 it’s Human Nutrition and Medical Nutrition Therapy (40%).
- Use CDR’s reference list to fill gaps, not to read cover to cover.
- Do CDR’s practice questions, then timed sets where you answer each question once and move on, as the real exam makes you do.
