Steps to book
- Open the Dates and Fees page and find your programs. It shows the test type, available dates, distribution deadlines, language and fees.
- Sign up for an Acuity Insights account. You can only have one, so keep using it if you made one in an earlier cycle.
- Upload clear colour photos of the front and back of a government-issued photo ID, and take a live selfie. Verification can take up to 3 business days.
- Choose the right admissions cycle and test type, then add your programs and any applicant IDs they need, such as an OMSAS ID.
- Reserve a date at least 3 days ahead, and pay.
Pick the right test type
| Test type | Used for |
|---|---|
| Canada Casper 1 (English) | Undergraduate health sciences, teacher education, undergraduate engineering |
| Canada Casper 2 (English) | Teacher education after a degree, graduate health sciences |
| Canada Casper 2 (Français) | Graduate professional programs in French |
Casper test types aren’t interchangeable. For the 2026-2027 cycle, Acuity lists these for Canada:
- Applying to programs in different categories or countries can mean taking more than one test type.
- French-only programs need the French test and English-only programs need the English one. Bilingual programs accept either, but you choose one distribution language and can’t change it for the cycle.
Timing and deadlines
Each program has a distribution deadline, the last day it accepts Casper scores. Scores reach programs about 2-3 weeks after your test, so book well before that. Acuity suggests booking the earliest date that works, which leaves room to reschedule. If you don’t have an applicant ID yet, you can reserve with a temporary ID.
Rescheduling
You can reschedule in your account if other dates are still open for your programs. It’s free 31 or more days before your test and $20 within 30 days. If you have approved accommodations, contact Acuity at least a week before. If you miss your test, rebook straight away if dates remain. If none are left before your deadline, you may have to wait for the next cycle.
Accommodations
If you have a disability, functional limitation or medical condition, even a temporary one, you can ask for accommodations such as extra time. Send the Accommodations Request Form with your documents at least 4 weeks before your test. You need an account to apply, but you don’t have to have booked yet.
