CAPR’s schedule lists dates for the CPTE only. The overview explains how the CPTE relates to the Physiotherapy Competency Examination (PCE).
Your exam day and time
Your Exam Appointment Confirmation email says whether you sit on the main date or the overflow date, and at what time. After it arrives, you can’t change the time.
CAPR doesn’t take requests for particular times. If you sit from outside Canada, it tries to give you a reasonable local time, within the limits of Canada’s time zones. Keep the address on your Client Portal profile up to date no later than 30 days before the exam, so you get a time in the right zone.
Deadline rules
The application deadline matters for more than your first application:
- Once an exam’s deadline has passed, you can’t apply for it or reschedule into it.
- Testing accommodations requests go in through the Client Portal by the same deadline, and the option disappears after it.
- Your payment has to reach CAPR by the deadline. If it doesn’t, CAPR closes the application and returns the payment.
- You can be registered for only one exam date at a time.
CAPR’s fees for changes and reviews
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Reschedule before the deadline | $250 |
| Reschedule after the deadline | $1,250 |
| Reschedule within 48 hours | $2,500 |
| Withdraw before the deadline | $250 kept |
| Withdraw after the deadline | $1,250 kept |
| Withdraw within 48 hours | No refund |
| Administrative reconsideration | $410 |
| Appeal | $410 |
| Re-scoring | $300 |
CAPR lists these fees with its 2027 exam fee, and the reschedule and withdrawal amounts are set as shares of that fee. “After the deadline” means after the application deadline of the exam you’re registered for, but more than 48 hours before it. You also lose the whole fee if you don’t turn up, arrive more than 15 minutes late, can’t check in or finish because of a problem within your control, or finish the Oral Section but don’t start the Written Section on time.
