GRE fee in India
ETS lists one worldwide price, $249, and sends test takers in India to the ETS India website to register and pay. You can usually pay in rupees with your card, so the amount you see at checkout depends on the exchange rate and any local taxes. We haven’t listed a rupee figure because ETS doesn’t publish one on its fee page.
Fee waiver: the Fee Reduction Program
ETS doesn’t offer a full waiver, but its Fee Reduction Program cuts the General Test fee to $100. Vouchers are limited and go first come, first served. They’re for testing in the US and its territories.
- US citizens or resident aliens who are college seniors or graduates not enrolled in college, with a FAFSA Submission Summary showing a Student Aid Index of zero or less
- People who are unemployed and receiving unemployment compensation
- Current Peace Corps volunteers
- Students in some national programs that work with underrepresented groups
Canceling and refunds
Cancel at least four days before your test (ten days in Mainland China) and you get half the test fee back. Any later, or if you don’t show up, you lose the whole fee. If you’re turned away for ID that doesn’t match, there’s no refund either, so check your name before you register.
