A 24-year-old basketball player felt a pop in her knee when she landed from a jump. On a Lachman test, her tibia moves forward more than on the other side, with a soft end feel. Which structure is most likely injured?
20 practice questions in the style of the exam.
How to use these 20 questions
Questions 1 to 6 are assessment and diagnosis and 7 to 12 care planning, the two biggest domains in the Written Section. Then come client safety and client-centred care (13 to 15), professional responsibilities (16), collaboration (17 and 18), communication (19) and practice management (20).
Aim for 15 right, which is 75%. That’s our own target, not CAPR’s. The CPTE gives one pass or fail for both sections together, from a standard CAPR sets by criterion-referenced standard setting, not a percentage. If an answer doesn’t click, ask the tutor to explain it another way.
Where can you find more PCE practice questions?
CAPR sells a practice exam of 200 retired questions from earlier PCE exams, and its CPTE Tutorial includes an example oral case. Our 20 don’t come from CAPR, and they cover the Written Section only, so practise the oral cases out loud as well.
