Where to study for the Life in the UK Test

Start with the official handbook, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents. The questions are based on it, and the booking service warns that a lot of unofficial study material online isn’t approved. Then add practice tests, from the official app or the apps and sites below. We checked each one’s price and what’s free in October 2026.

The Home Office’s own guide to the test: the format, the fee, accepted ID, who doesn’t need to take it, and the link to the official booking service. It has no practice questions. Check it before you book, because the rules on ID are changing in 2026.
