Is there an Indiana permit test study guide besides the manual?
The BMV adds three things to the manual, all free. Chapter 9 has sample questions with answers. The Practice Knowledge Examination PDF has the same 6 sign and 10 traffic questions. And the BMV's YouTube channel has knowledge exam videos that walk through the manual.
Apps and websites sell their own study guides and question banks. They're compared on the where-to-learn page.
Languages and printed copies
The full manual comes in English, Arabic, Burmese, Mandarin (Simplified Chinese), French, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Spanish and Vietnamese. The chapter PDFs are in English.
The BMV says printed manuals are updated at most once a year and could be out of date. The electronic version online is the current one.
Manuals for other Indiana tests
The motorcycle knowledge exam comes from the Motorcycle Operator's Manual, and the CDL knowledge exams from the Commercial Driver's License Manual and the Indiana Specific CDL Manual. The for-hire exam uses this same Driver's Manual.
