How do you request a USMLE transcript?
USMLE doesn’t publish the fee. FSMB sets it, so check the amount when you order.
- To a medical licensing authority: contact FSMB at any time.
- To anyone else, if you haven’t registered for or taken Step 3: ask the last organization that registered you for a Step.
- For yourself: also through FSMB, for a fee.
What’s on your transcript
The charts from your original score reports aren’t on the transcript.
- Your name and identifying details, including date of birth.
- Every Step you’ve taken, including fails and exams with no result reported.
- Whether you took older exams such as NBME Parts, FLEX or ECFMG’s CSA.
- Notes about irregular behavior, and licensing actions reported to FSMB’s Physician Data Center.
Your USMLE transcript for ERAS and ResidencyCAS
For U.S. residency programs, follow the instructions of the application service you’re using. USMLE gives both ERAS and ResidencyCAS the same official, source-certified data, and it asks programs to treat the two formats as interchangeable.
Score report or transcript?
Your score report is for you alone and stays online for about 365 days. To show your results to anyone else, or to see them after that year, you need a transcript.
