Where to study for the Australian citizenship test

Start with the free official booklet, Our Common Bond, and the free Home Affairs practice test. Every question on the real test comes from Parts 1 to 4 of that booklet. If you want more practice, the apps, websites, videos and classes below are the ones people actually use. Home Affairs doesn’t endorse any of the paid ones. We checked each one’s price and what you get for free in October 2026.

Many councils and libraries run free citizenship test courses, often over several weeks. Fairfield City Library in Sydney ran one in 2026 with Arabic and Assyrian support, for example. Dates change each term, so ask your local library or settlement service what’s on.
