Step by step
- Check which version you need. Permanent residence needs CELPIP-General. Citizenship can use CELPIP-General LS.
- Create a CELPIP Account on celpip.ca.
- Choose your test centre and date. The site lists centres across Canada, so search for the one nearest you.
- Pay online. The fee for your date shows at checkout.
- Read your confirmation and the test day information, and note the address and start time.
Under 18?
Test takers under 18 need a registration form signed by a parent or guardian. You’ll find it on the celpip.ca policies and forms page.
Changing or cancelling
- Transfer to a new date in your CELPIP Account at least 7 days before your test. Check the fee shown there. Paragon’s pages differ on whether it’s free or CAD 50 plus tax.
- Cancel at least 7 days before and you get 50% of the fee back.
- Cancel later, or don’t show up, and you get nothing back.
After the test
You get an email when your scores are ready, usually 2 to 4 business days after the test, not counting weekends or holidays. Download the official score report as a PDF from your account. CELPIP’s results page says paper score reports have been discontinued. If 5 business days pass with no email, contact CELPIP.
