Retaking CELPIP

You can book CELPIP again whenever you like, but you take the whole test again and pay the full fee. As of October 2026 we found no single-skill retake for CELPIP on celpip.ca. If one score looks wrong, you can ask for a re-evaluation within six months instead.

Booking another test

Book a new test in your CELPIP Account, the same way as the first time. We didn’t find a required waiting period on Paragon’s pages, so the real limit is when a seat is free. Leave yourself enough time to actually improve, since you pay the full fee again.

No retaking just one part

If only Reading was low, you still sit Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking again. For citizenship, CELPIP-General LS is already just Listening and Speaking.

Re-evaluation instead of a retake

If you think a score is wrong, you can ask Paragon to re-evaluate it within six months of your test date. You pay a re-evaluation fee when you apply, and results take about one to two weeks. It’s worth it only if a score is far below what you expected.

Which result counts for IRCC

For Express Entry, your results must be less than 2 years old when you create your profile and when you submit your application. If they’ll expire before then, IRCC says you can retake the test, apply before they expire, or decline an invitation and return to the pool. For citizenship, expired results are fine if the scores are high enough.
