Replacement CPCS card

If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, you ask NOCN Group for a replacement CPCS card by email, and NOCN sends you a link to pay. NOCN calls it a duplicate card. Your Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) record stays on NOCN’s Card Checker, so an employer can still check your categories while you wait.

How do you get a replacement CPCS card?

Email cpcs@nocn.org.uk with:

  • your CPCS card number
  • your name
  • your date of birth
  • your National Insurance (NI) number
  • the postal address for the new card
  • the email address for the payment link

NOCN sends the payment link to that email address, and the card goes to the postal address you give.

Proving your card while you wait

Your details are held by NOCN, so an employer can look you up on NOCN’s online Card Checker with your surname or date of birth and your card or NI number. The training and qualification data behind a CPCS smart card is held in the cloud, not only on the card itself.

Lost card or expired card?

A replacement only replaces the card you have. If your blue card has run out, you need to renew it; if the categories on your red card have run out, you need to upgrade, extend or retest. Each needs its own steps and its own fee.

If someone else is using your card

All CPCS cards remain the property of CPCS, and NOCN can cancel a card that breaks the scheme rules. A cancelled or revoked smart card has its chip switched off, so it fails a check on site, and NOCN can switch off a smart card remotely if it has been compromised.
