How to book the UCAT

UK dates for 2026

The UCAS deadline for medicine and dentistry was 15 October 2026. Expect a similar pattern in 2027, but check the official dates in March.

How to book the UK test

1. Check whether you’re eligible for a bursary or need access arrangements. Apply for these before booking.
2. Create a UCAT account. For 2026, everyone needed a new account, even if they’d had one before.
3. Register for the test in your account.
4. Once booking opens, choose a Pearson VUE test centre, date and time, and pay by card.
5. Check your appointment shows on your UCAT account dashboard.

UCAT ANZ dates and booking

UCAT ANZ runs earlier in the year. In 2026, bookings opened on 3 March and closed on 15 May. Late bookings ran to 29 May and final late bookings to 5 June, both with extra fees. Testing ran from 1 July to 5 August, and results went to universities in early September.

You book through your UCAT ANZ Pearson account. If you’ve had one before, use it again, because multiple accounts aren’t allowed. You should get a booking email and a payment email. If you don’t, the booking didn’t go through.

Rescheduling and cancelling

• UK: reschedule free, or cancel for a full refund, up to 24 hours before your test. Do it in your UCAT account or by phoning Pearson on +44 (0)208 616 5106. Email doesn’t count.
• UCAT ANZ: reschedule up to 24 hours before. It’s free until 29 June, then A$25. Cancel by the cancellation deadline (12 June in 2026) for a refund minus A$50.
• If you miss your test, whatever the reason, you pay the full fee again to rebook.

UCAT or UCAT ANZ?

Sit the UCAT if you’re applying only to UK universities or the UCAT’s international partners. Sit UCAT ANZ if you’re applying in Australia or New Zealand, including if you’re applying to the UK as well. You can’t sit both in the same year.
