ATI TEAS 7: the version you’ll take

ATI released Version 7 of the TEAS on June 3, 2022, and as of October 2026 its exam details page still lists it as the live exam. So if you register now, you take ATI TEAS 7: 170 questions in Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage over 209 minutes. Earlier versions, like TEAS 6 or TEAS V, aren’t what ATI’s current pages describe.

What changed with ATI TEAS 7

  • New question types sit alongside multiple choice: multiple select, fill in the blank, ordered response and hot spot. ATI calls them alternate item types.
  • Multiple select questions are all or nothing. There’s no partial credit for getting some of the choices right.
  • The four sections stay, each timed on its own, with 150 scored questions and 20 unscored pretest questions.

ATI has launched seven test blueprints since the TEAS began, with several forms for each. Every form is equated to the current blueprint, so scores from different forms can be compared.

Do TEAS 6 or TEAS V scores still count?

ATI says scores are usually valid for two years, schools decide, and in a year when the blueprint changes they may accept scores for a year or less.

A TEAS 6 score is from before June 3, 2022, so it’s more than four years old (our count), past the usual two years. Ask your school before you rely on it.

Can you study for ATI TEAS 7 with an older book?

ATI says the basic concepts haven’t changed, but the share of questions in each area and the question types have. If you use an older edition, download ATI’s study guide addendums for it.

ATI sells only the newest edition as an eBook, on atitesting.com. Older printed editions turn up elsewhere.
