Are there free EPPP practice questions?
A few, yes. ASPPB’s free Candidate Handbook has four sample Part 1 (Knowledge) questions and one Part 2 (Skills) question, with answers, in its appendixes, plus a link to more Part 2 sample items. ASPPB’s sample exams aren’t free, and their prices are in the comparison above. Of the prep companies, PrepJet offers a free trial, and PsychPrep offers free sample questions and a free sample package.
Be wary of anyone other than ASPPB selling “retired” or remembered EPPP questions. ASPPB’s own sample exams use retired items, but every candidate agrees that passing on EPPP content is a breach of professional ethics, and ASPPB says it may void the score of anyone found to have done it and bar them from future exams.
What ASPPB’s sample exams are for
ASPPB sells sample exams for both parts, online or at a Pearson VUE test center, to candidates whose board has authorized them and assigned an exam workflow. You buy and book them through the Sample Exams link in Clarus, ASPPB’s registration portal, and you can take them more than once. The Part 1 sample has two forms, so it repeats from your third try. The Part 2 sample has one.
ASPPB is clear about their limits. They don’t give a pass or fail result or show which questions you missed, and ASPPB doesn’t recommend them for finding the areas you need to study. What they do give you is the real exam’s format and functions, and at a test center, conditions like those on exam day. Online, you get 2 hours in total for Part 1 and 1 hour 50 minutes for Part 2, and you must finish within a week of starting.
For the single integrated EPPP due in fall 2027, ASPPB said new sample exams of 100 questions in 150 minutes would open to approved candidates in Clarus from fall 2026 in English, and from summer 2027 in French.
Which EPPP prep course fits you?
- Want the real exam’s look and feel? Only ASPPB’s sample exams come from the exam’s owner, and the Part 1 sample is made of retired EPPP items.
- Paying month by month? PrepJet bills monthly, with lower monthly rates on its 3- and 6-month plans, and lets you start with a free trial.
- Want printed notes or audio? PsychPrep’s Basic Package Plus and Premium Package add a study volume in print or digital form, and the Premium Package adds 38 hours of audio.
- Like learning from a workshop? Every PsychPrep package includes its pre-recorded EPPP Mastery Workshop.
The prices and contents in the comparison above come from each company’s own site, checked in October 2026. Both sell subscriptions that keep renewing until you cancel, so note the renewal price before you buy.
A study path for the EPPP
- Download ASPPB’s Candidate Handbook and the content areas for the part you’re taking, and note which domains carry the most weight.
- Plan your weeks around those weights. ASPPB recommends taking Part 1 as soon as you can after your academic training, while the material is fresh.
- Work through one domain at a time with a review course or textbook, and use a question bank to find your weak spots.
- Near the end, take an ASPPB sample exam to get used to the screens and the timing.
- If your board requires Part 2, study its six skill domains once you’ve finished your supervised experience, which is when ASPPB recommends taking it.
