How do you request ISEE test accommodations?
- Log in to your ISEE parent account and add your student. On the student’s dashboard, turn on the Accommodations toggle and choose New Request.
- Download the Current School Statement form (page 3 of the ISEE Accommodations Request Form) and the documentation requirements, then upload everything.
- Once approved, register for a test that offers your accommodations. E3n can’t promise every site offers all of them.
Review may take longer if documents are incomplete or insufficient. E3n’s Quick Facts Guide says approvals last 24 months from the approval date; its accommodations page says both 24 months and the full testing year, so check the date on your approval.
Documents you need
At least one of these:
- An Individualized Education Program (IEP), a 504 plan or a private school plan showing the accommodations your child gets because of a disability.
- An evaluation by a licensed or properly credentialed professional who assessed your child.
- Proof of approved accommodations on a similar test: the SSAT, the High School Placement Test (HSPT), the SAT, ACT or PSAT.
You also need the Current School Statement, filled in by an administrator or specialist at your child’s school, including a virtual school or homeschool. Temporary conditions generally don’t qualify unless they substantially limit a major life activity.

How long is the ISEE with extended time?
| Level | 1.5x time | Double time |
|---|---|---|
| Primary 2 | 1 hour 19 minutes | 1 hour 46 minutes |
| Primary 3 | 1 hour 21 minutes | 1 hour 48 minutes |

Breaks come on top: one 10-minute break at Primary Levels and two at the other levels. The essay gets 45 minutes with 1.5x time and 60 minutes with double time.
SSAT accommodations
- Accommodations must be approved before you register, and you must say so when you register or the test won’t include them.
- You apply in your SSAT account, and an approver who can vouch for your child’s needs confirms the request and proves their identity.
- Allow up to two weeks once every item is in. Approval lasts for the testing year plus one more.
- Documents must be dated within the last 3 years and in English. A plain list of accommodations isn’t enough.
- Accommodated registration closes 14 days before a Standard paper test, 10 days before an open Flex test, 72 hours before SSAT at Home and 24 hours before a Prometric test.
- Families provide the equipment, materials and people needed, such as a reader or scribe. SSAT score reports don’t flag accommodations.
The SSAT also offers accommodations for religious need.
