The deadlines inside each test
- The registration deadline is also the last day to ask for accommodations for most tests, and the last day to change your date for free.
- Scheduling opens about two to three weeks before each test. LSAC emails you, and texts you if you’ve opted in, and you then book a time at a test center.
- LSAT Argumentative Writing opens eight days before the first test day, for example January 5 for the January 2027 test.
- Scores come out 18 days after the last test day for every US and Canada test in the table above.
Picking a test date
LSAC doesn’t recommend a month. What it does say is that your score is released only once your Argumentative Writing is done and approved, and a first-timer’s essay can take up to three weeks to process. If a school deadline is close, do the essay as soon as it opens.
Register early if you can. LSAC hands out scheduling windows in the order people registered, so earlier sign-ups get first pick of times and centers.
