MCAT practice test

Here are 20 free MCAT-style questions across all four sections: chemistry and physics, CARS, biology and biochemistry, and psychology and sociology. We wrote them ourselves, with four answer choices like the real exam. The MCAT has no pass mark, so aim for 70%, which is 14 right. That’s our practice target, not an AAMC rule. You’ll see why each answer is right, and anything you miss comes back at the end.

Question 1 of 20

A buffer is made with equal concentrations of acetic acid (pKa = 4.76) and sodium acetate. What is the pH of the buffer?

Sample of the MCAT: same format, 20 questions.
