When do MCAT scores come out?

MCAT scores come out 30 to 35 days after your test, by 5 p.m. ET on the release date. You see them in the AAMC Testing Services Score Reporting System, and they go into your AMCAS application automatically. As of October 2026, the first 2027 release is February 16, 2027, for the January 15 and 16 tests.

How to check your MCAT score

  1. Go to the AAMC Testing Services Score Reporting System and sign in with your AAMC username and password.
  2. Your new test won’t show in your history until its release date, so there’s no point checking earlier.
  3. On release day, look by 5 p.m. ET. The AAMC won’t give scores over the phone or by email.

Sending your scores

If you apply through AMCAS, you don’t have to do anything. Your scores are pulled into your application on the release date.

For other application services and schools, such as AACOMAS, CASPA or SOPHAS, use the Share Scores menu in the Score Reporting System. You can send scores electronically or give a school a code to download your official report. It’s free. Once you share, you can’t take it back, and any new score in the next 365 days is sent to that school automatically.

You can’t choose which scores to send. Every exam you scored since April 2003 is included. A screenshot or printout of your report isn’t official.

How long are MCAT scores valid?

The AAMC doesn’t set an expiry date. It says medical schools generally accept scores from the last two or three years, and each school decides. Check the policy of every school you apply to before you count on an older score.

If you think your score is wrong

You can submit a Rescore Request in the MCAT Registration System within 30 days of your score release date. The AAMC rescores your exam within 30 days of getting your payment. It won’t tell you which answers you chose, and there’s no appeal after a rescore.
