Which parts the exam leans on

The manual says the computerized exam is based on its contents and especially focuses on Mississippi traffic laws, safe-driving rules and driver’s license requirements. State law adds that the test checks you can read and understand road signs and that it covers school bus safety. So give extra time to the sign pages, the school bus rules on page 58 and the license rules at the front.

The license pages at the front already include the rule that starts July 1, 2027: proof of a certified driver’s ed course for anyone getting a first license.

Printed copies, formats and languages

DPS posts the manual as one English PDF, and printed copies are $3 at a driver license station. It doesn’t post an audio version or a manual in another language. The exam itself has a read-aloud headset and allows a sworn interpreter, which the guide explains.
