When do SHSAT results come out?

New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) says students get their score and any offer in early spring 2027. Its fall 2027 high school admissions timeline lists March 3, 2027, after 3 p.m., as the date for high school offers. NYCPS says the timeline’s dates may change, and it tells families directly if they do.

How to get your SHSAT results

  • Log in to your MySchools account.
  • No account? Your school counselor can give you your results.
  • You can also visit a Family Welcome Center.

If you get an offer, or decide not to take it

Not everyone who takes the SHSAT gets an offer, and the Specialized High Schools don’t have waitlists. For the fall 2025 test, NYCPS told families with an offer that they didn’t need to do anything right away to accept it. Students who wouldn’t take the seat because they were going to a private, parochial or charter school, or a school outside NYC, could ask their counselor to mark the offer “Opt out” in MySchools, or email NYCPS.

Students without an offer may be contacted about the Discovery program if they’re eligible.
