CIRO exam pass mark and results

Your result on an exam set by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) is pass or fail, and CIRO won’t publish a minimum passing grade. Its exam pages give no pass rates either, so there’s no CIRO exam pass mark or pass rate to look up.

Why is there no CIRO exam pass mark?

Each of CIRO’s exams comes in different versions, and each version has its own passing grade. CIRO says publishing a single passing grade would be misleading, so candidates receive a pass or fail mark.

Getting your result

Your results are in the Candidate Portal, where you can also download your transcripts. After you pass, you get a completion confirmation to report on the National Registration Database (NRD) and on CIRO Services.

If you don’t pass

You may try again within the same enrolment period, for a retake fee. The limit on attempts, and the cooling-off period after repeated fails, are on the cost page.
