MCCQE results: when they come out and how people did

Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) results come out 4 weeks after the last day of the January, August and October sessions, and 5 weeks after the April session. The Medical Council of Canada (MCC) emails you and posts a message in your physiciansapply.ca account, where you read your MCCQE results. Across all candidates, 61% passed in sessions from April 2025 to March 2026.

When do MCCQE results come out?

The clock starts on the last day of the session, not the day you sat the exam. So someone who writes on the first day of a session waits longer than someone who writes on the last. The MCC runs several checks before it releases results, and it never gives them by phone or email.

What you get: the Statement of Results and the SIR

  • Statement of Results (SOR): your final result, your total score and the score you needed to pass
  • Supplemental Information Report (SIR): your subscores in each domain, alongside the average of first-time takers who passed

Both appear in your physiciansapply.ca account shortly after the email. From there you can share them with medical regulatory authorities (MRAs) and other organizations, including for a residency application.

Canadian graduates are graduates of a Canadian medical school, and international graduates are graduates of a school outside Canada. The figures come from the MCC’s 2025‑2026 Annual Report, which counts sessions from April 1 to March 31 and leaves out No Standing and Denied Standing results. The report calls the exam by its old name, the MCCQE Part I.

The MCC notes that Canadian graduates have more similar training and typically take the exam in their final year of medical school, while the international group includes candidates at later stages of their careers.

If you fail, or something went wrong on exam day

A fail counts as one of your four attempts. The overview has the rules for reapplying.

You can ask for a reconsideration only if you didn’t pass and you reported an exam day incident, such as illness or a problem at the centre, to the MCC within 7 days of the exam. Send the request through your account within 15 calendar days of getting your result. The MCC expects the process to take about 11 weeks, and it doesn’t reconsider results based on exam content.
