Where to study for the Ontario G1 test

Start with the free Official MTO Driver’s Handbook on ontario.ca. Every G1 question is based on it. If you want more practice, the apps and websites below are the ones Ontario learners actually use. We checked each one’s price, what’s free and its ratings in October 2026.

These courses are mostly about the driving, not the written test. They run at least 40 hours, with 20 in class and 10 in the car. Finish one and you can take your G2 road test after 8 months instead of 12. Some insurers give a discount too. Check that a school is approved, not on the revoked list.
