GMAT test centers

You choose the test center as part of booking on mba.com, GMAC’s registration site. As of October 2026, a GMAT test center costs $275 in the US and Canada and £250 in the UK, and GMAC said in 2024 that about three-quarters of test takers choose one over the online exam.

Who has to use a GMAT test center?

Anyone in mainland China, Iran, Cuba, Sudan or North Korea, where GMAC’s October 2024 page says the online exam isn’t offered. Everywhere else you can choose.

Test center or online?

GMAC says the online exam has the same structure, number of questions, timing and scoring as the test center version, and that admissions staff show no preference. In the US and Canada the test center is $25 cheaper by our arithmetic: $275 against $300. Test center fees elsewhere vary by location.

Booking a center

Centers are part of the mba.com booking, so that’s where you see which ones have open times. GMAC’s fee waiver FAQ notes that walk-ins aren’t accepted and that popular dates, especially weekends, can fill early.
