How do you get a driver abstract in PEI?
Highway Safety lists the abstract of driver record among its licence fees, but the fee page doesn’t say how to order one. Ask at any Access PEI location or the Highway Safety head office.
What a driver abstract shows
Your driver abstract in PEI is a summary of your driver record, and demerit points from traffic convictions go on that record. The handbook (Spring 2011) describes a demerit point system that can end in a suspension once enough points add up. Highway Safety’s web pages don’t give the point values or limits, so ask Access PEI how many points an offence carries.
Highway Safety’s school list says some licensed driving schools are certified for the Defensive Drivers Course.
Suspensions in graduated licensing
Breaking a Stage 2 or Stage 3 restriction brings a 30-day suspension for a first offence and 90 days for a second, Highway Safety’s Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) page says.
