CeMAP 2: Mortgages (MORT)

It’s the mortgage module of the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP), with two units: MRT1, Mortgage Law, Practice and Application, and MRT2, Mortgage Products and Post Completion. CeMAP 2 covers the house-buying process, types of borrower, affordability and the mortgage products you’ll advise on, and each unit has its own exam with the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF).

Should you take CeMAP 2 before CeMAP 3?

There’s no fixed order for the three modules, but LIBF recommends finishing CeMAP 2 before CeMAP 3. CeMAP 3 is a case-study exam that mainly tests what you learned in MRT1 and MRT2, so it makes sense to sit it last. LIBF also notes that, because CeMAP 2 is closer to day-to-day adviser work, many learners choose to start with it.
