Do you need CeMAP training?
No. LIBF says an outside course is not a requirement of your CeMAP studies, though extra support might help. Whatever you choose, you still register and sit the exams with LIBF, because it’s the awarding body, and every provider in the comparison says its prices don’t include LIBF’s fees.
LIBF suggests a course could help once you’ve started and feel you need more support: an online course may be structured in a way that suits how you learn, and classroom days and live webinars let you learn with a trainer and other students.

CeMAP fast track, online and classroom courses
Providers sell CeMAP training in three main forms. Self-study or distance learning gives you recorded lessons and notes to work through at your own pace. Live webinars run the same teaching over video at set times. Fast-track classroom courses squeeze it into a few full days: Simply Academy runs its CeMAP Fast Track as two five-day workshops, and Clarity Financial Training’s classroom course for all three modules lasts 10 days.
Fast-track courses still leave the exams to you. You sit each unit online with LIBF when you’re ready, so a 10-day course and a year of evening study end in the same five exams.
LIBF’s accredited CeMAP training providers
LIBF runs an Accredited Learning Support Provider (ALSP) scheme. It reviews each provider’s course for accuracy, how it compares with LIBF’s programme, trainer credentials and quality of delivery, and asks for an annual report. For CeMAP it names:
- trusted partners: Simply Academy and Quilter Academy
- accredited providers: Beacon Financial Training, Clarity Financial Training, Futuretrend Training Academy and Newleaf Distribution
- also on its page for students: Effectus Learning
LIBF says it isn’t accepting new ALSP applications for CeMAP at the moment, and it offers no guarantee of success with any provider.
How to check a CeMAP training provider
LIBF warns that some professional-looking CeMAP training websites aren’t genuine. For a provider outside its scheme, it suggests you check whether:
- it can be reached by phone or email, not only through a call-back service
- it gives an address that Companies House shows is genuine
- it states its course fees clearly, and says you also register and pay LIBF
- its syllabus and course content look accurate, complete and up to date
- it has clear terms and conditions
- it claims LIBF accreditation or uses LIBF’s logo, which only ALSPs may do
LIBF’s advice is to phone the provider and talk through the course before you pay. Concerns about a provider can go to customerservices@libf.ac.uk.
