PTCE results: when and where you get your score

You see an unofficial result on screen as soon as you finish the post-exam survey, and you can print it at the test center. Your official PTCE results go to your PTCB account within three weeks, and PTCB can't speed that up. For the ExCPT taken with PSI, at a center or online, NHA posts results to your account within 48 hours.

When are official PTCE results ready?

Within three weeks, says PTCB's CPhT page. Its guidebook puts it at about one to three weeks. PTCB doesn't give results or scores by phone or fax, but it can email them to you if you ask.

In late October 2026, PTCB's verification page said results for exams taken on or before October 18, 2026 had been uploaded, and that some third-party test sites can be slower. If 3 weeks have passed with no result, contact PTCB through its Help Center.

After you pass the PTCE

Download your certificate and wallet card from your PTCB account. PTCB also issues a digital badge through Credly, after an invitation from badge@ptcb.org. Your name then shows as Active in PTCB's verification lookup. What score you need is on our questions page: a scaled 1,400.

ExCPT results and score report

NHA posts a score report to your NHA account. It shows your score, whether you passed and how you did in each major content area. If you test at your school or employer, a preliminary report is ready straight away, and NHA warns that preliminary results aren't final.

You can ask for a hand rescore within 60 days of the exam, and NHA may charge for it. Appeals of a final score go in writing on NHA's form within 30 days.

If you didn't pass

Use the score report to see which areas pulled you down, and plan your next attempt around them. When you can try again, and what it costs, depends on the exam; both sets of rules are in the guide's FAQ.
