What changed in the new Australian citizenship test?

Our Common Bond says the test consists of 20 randomly selected questions and, from 15 November 2020, includes five questions on Australian values. To pass, you must answer all five values questions correctly and get at least 75% overall. Those questions come from Part 4 of the book.

The book now names King Charles III

The current testable section of Our Common Bond names His Majesty King Charles III as the King of Australia and Head of State. Practice material that names the Queen comes from an older edition.

Using material from older tests

Practice tests from 2016 or 2017 were written before the values rule, so they won’t prepare you for it. Check any older app or book against the current Our Common Bond, and read Home Affairs’ test page before your appointment in case anything has changed.
