Nova Scotia learner’s practice test

This Nova Scotia learner’s practice test has 20 free questions written from the Nova Scotia Driver’s Handbook. Ten are road signs and ten cover the rules of the road, the two parts of the real Knowledge Test. You need 8 of the 10 sign questions and 16 of 20 overall. Pick an answer to see why it’s right, and anything you miss comes back at the end.

Question 1 of 20

You hold a Learner’s Licence (Class 7). Who may ride in the car with you?

20 practice questions in the style of the knowledge test.

How close is this learner’s practice test to the Nova Scotia one?

The real test has two parts of 20 multiple-choice questions: the Rules of the Road Test and the Road Sign Recognition Test. You need 16 right on each, and each part is scored on its own. This practice test is half the length, with the same split, and asks you for the same 80% on the signs.

The questions are ours, written from the handbook, not the RMV’s. One of them uses a Traffic Safety Act rule from October 2026, which the handbook was written before. Treat a pass as a sign you’re on track rather than a promise.

What to do after these 20 questions

Go back to the handbook for every question you missed, and read the update pages at the front of it with the Traffic Safety Act changes. If you’ll test online, try the RMV’s sample test as well. It won’t check what you know, but it shows you how the online system works.
