The Arkansas online drivers test: practice online, test in person

Can you take the Arkansas online drivers test at home?

ASP's driver examination page, its study guide and its scheduler all point you to a testing site for the knowledge exam, and none of them mention an online or remote option. If a website offers to give you the Arkansas online drivers test for your permit, it isn't offering something ASP lists.

You get the instruction permit after passing the knowledge and vision tests, and both are taken in person.

What you can do online

Plenty of the prep work is online:

• Read the Arkansas Driver License Study Guide, a free PDF
• Take ASP's Official Arkansas Driver License Practice Test
• Watch ASP's one-minute traffic stop video, which you need to see before you schedule
• Book your knowledge or driving test on ASP's scheduler
• Print the ASP-33 form, if a parent can't come with you and you need it notarized

At the testing site

The exam is on a touch-screen kiosk, with an examiner on hand to help if a word or sentence isn't clear. You choose an answer, then confirm it before it counts. If you've shown the examiner an IEP, a 504 plan or another evaluation, you can take the oral version, where the kiosk reads everything to you through headphones.
