What ASVAB score do you need for Army infantry, medic or MP?
Army job pages such as Infantryman (11B) link to its ASVAB page but don’t give the line score. The line score table shows which subtests matter: Combat, for example, uses Verbal Expression, Auto and Shop, and Mechanical Comprehension. For the current minimum on infantry, combat medic, military police or Special Forces, ask a recruiter.
The Future Soldier Preparatory Course
- With an AFQT of 21 or more: a 90-day academic track covering all the ASVAB subjects, with chances to retake the test.
- With 31 to 49: a 30-day option with one chance to raise your score. Depending on Army needs, you may be able to pick a new MOS with the higher score.
- An expanded version adds a fitness track after the academic one if your body fat is over Army standards.
Is there an Army ASVAB practice test?
There’s no separate Army ASVAB. It’s the same test every branch uses, given only in English, so any good ASVAB practice works. The Army notes that around 70% of military applicants “take the test online,” and that the computer version takes about half the time of the paper one. If you retest, it uses your most recent score, not your highest.
