ASVAB minimum score for the Marines

You need an ASVAB score of 31 or higher to join the Marine Corps, or 50 or higher if you hold a GED or a nontraditional diploma. That’s the ASVAB minimum score for Marines on marines.com as of October 2026. Your score also helps match you to the Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) that fit your strengths.

What else do you need besides the ASVAB minimum score for Marines?

Marines.com lists the ASVAB with the other basics for enlisting:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • An age between 17 and 28.
  • A score of 31 on the ASVAB, or 50 with a GED or nontraditional diploma.

What ASVAB scores do Marine jobs need?

Marines.com doesn’t list minimums by MOS on its requirements page. A recruiter can tell you which jobs your scores open, including infantry or military police.

Is there a Marine ASVAB practice test?

The Marines use the same ASVAB as every branch, described on marines.com as a multiple-choice exam covering subjects like arithmetic, electronics and mechanical comprehension. Any ASVAB practice works. If you want an estimate first, a recruiter can register you for the AFQT Predictor Test.
