El Paso County says the North branch is closed as a DMV on Saturday, October 31 and Monday and Tuesday, November 2-3, 2026, while it serves as a polling center for the general election.

How long is the wait at the DMV in Colorado Springs?
El Paso County posts live wait times for its four branches online. The state office works by appointment, so its wait is the first open slot in the DMV's scheduler, which highlights the earliest date when you pick the office.
Taking the permit test in Colorado Springs
El Paso County says it doesn't give driver tests, so the written test in town is at the state office on N. Union Blvd, booked through the DMV's scheduler. You can also take it at home with the @Home test.
After an @Home pass, the DMV says to book a state driver license office to get your permit. El Paso County says its branches issue first-time permits on a walk-in basis. If you passed online and want to use a county branch, call El Paso County first (719-520-6240).
The drive test isn't given at any of these offices. Approved driving schools and testers give it, and the DMV's map shows the ones near you.
