Is any part of the Missouri permit test online?
No part of it. At the station you may take the written test on a touch screen or tablet, which can feel like an online test, but it's still in person with an examiner. The test is also offered on paper, as an oral test on the computer, or read to you by an examiner.
What you can do online
These official services are online:
- Read the Missouri Driver Guide as a PDF, or listen to the audio version.
- Schedule a driving or motorcycle skills test through MyDMV, at stations that take bookings.
- Check the mailing status of your permit or license on MyDMV.
- Renew your license or permit online, if you meet the rules for remote renewal.
- Request a copy of your driving record.
Who can renew online?
Online renewal is only for people 21 to 49 with a U.S. citizenship indicator on their record, whose license or permit is still valid or expired no more than 184 days. Your last renewal must have been in person, you must confirm a vision exam within the past 12 months, and your driving history has to pass a check. Everyone else renews at a license office.
Paid online help isn't official
The Highway Patrol says online driver help services aren't sanctioned by the Department of Revenue or the Patrol. You never need to pay a website to take, schedule or pass the permit test. The test itself is free.
