What the questions cover
The DMV's handbook says the test checks your understanding of highway signs and markings, traffic laws and safe driving practices. Every answer is in the Nevada Driver's Handbook (DMV 700).
The DMV doesn't publish how many questions come from each chapter, or a separate sign section. Signs are mixed in with everything else, so one test can touch right-of-way, speed limits, school buses, parking, phones and DUI.
Motorcycle and CDL tests are separate
The motorcycle knowledge test also has 25 questions with an 80% pass mark. If you don't already hold a Class C license, you take the Class C written test as well.
Commercial drivers take a CDL general knowledge test, plus air brake and endorsement tests if they need them. The DMV's CDL page doesn't give the number of questions on those.
