Which written driving tests can you take online in NB?
The written tests for a Class 7 Level 1 licence (the testing page calls it the Class 7.1 learner’s permit), a motorcycle licence and a moped licence. Written tests for commercial classes 1 to 4, and the air brake exam, are in person only.
Road tests are never online.
How do you pay for the online test?
There’s a fee whether you test online or in person. Online, you can pay with:
- A credit card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover
- A Visa or MasterCard debit card
- Interac Online, for TD Canada Trust accounts only
When the payment goes through, you get an access code for the test. You can keep it and use it later.
After you pass online
Wait at least four business days before you go to an SNB office. The Campobello office is the one exception. At the office you take the vision test and show the same documents as for an in-person test, plus proof of your motorcycle course if you’re applying for a motorcycle licence.
Taking the written test in person instead
Rather sit it at a service centre? Book the in-person test through the same service.
