LNAT results: when they arrive and who sees them

Universities see your result before you do. From 21 October they can download the scores and essays from National Admissions Test for Law (LNAT) sittings held from 1 September to 20 October. After that, each result is ready for them within 24 hours of the test. Your own LNAT results come by email, in mid February if you sat the test on or before 26 January, or in mid August if you sat it later.

How your LNAT result reaches universities

You don’t send it. The universities download your score and essay themselves, using the details in your LNAT profile, so your Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) personal ID has to be right. If it’s missing or wrong, your result can’t be matched to your application. The LNAT Consortium says neither it, Pearson VUE nor the universities will chase results lost through mistakes in your details.

Universities add their own checks. The University of Bristol says your UCAS personal ID, surname and date of birth must match your UCAS application exactly, with Bristol ticked in your LNAT account. The University of Cambridge says you must say during LNAT registration that you plan to apply to Cambridge.

When will I get my LNAT results?

You sat the LNATResult emailed
On or before 26 JanuaryMid February
After 26 JanuaryMid August

The LNAT Consortium says it can’t give exact dates. The email goes to the address in your LNAT profile, so keep it up to date.

If your LNAT result hasn’t arrived

  1. Check when it’s due. A test sat before 27 January isn’t due until mid February.
  2. Log in and check the email address in your profile.
  3. Make sure your inbox works and isn’t full.
  4. Look in your spam or junk folder.
  5. If it still isn’t there, use the contact form on lnat.ac.uk.

If illness affected your LNAT result

The LNAT Consortium and Pearson VUE won’t adjust a result if you were unwell on the day; any allowance is between you and your universities. The University of Bristol says candidates whose performance was badly affected can ask LNAT about a resit, and it will accept resits LNAT authorises.
