OET’s handbook says the packs let you review transcripts and sample answers as well. Pick your profession first, because Writing and Speaking change with it, then the mode you’ll sit.

How often should you take an OET sample test?

OET suggests one every 2 to 3 weeks, working in between on whatever caused your mistakes. Taking test after test, it says, improves your test-taking but not your English, and the English matters more to your grades.

If you’re new to OET, work through the first one slowly and note the strategies you use. Once you know the format, sit them under test conditions, strictly timed and without breaks, to see how close you are to the grade you need.

OET past papers and unofficial practice tests

OET’s sample test pages offer sample tests, not past papers. OET writes new Listening and Reading tests for each session, which is why the marks needed for each grade shift a little from test to test.

It also warns against practice tasks shared on social media, which may not be official and may misrepresent the test. “Leaked” papers are a different matter: OET’s Test Regulations ban sharing any part of a test in any form, and say it can lead to civil or criminal charges.
