Who has to pass CISI Integrity Matters?
- everyone applying for CISI membership, before they’re admitted
- existing members, who have had to pass it or the Integrity & Ethics Professional Refresher unit
- Chartered members, as part of Chartered status
- Capital Markets Programme candidates in the UK, Ireland, Europe and North America, before their exam
The Capital Markets Programme page has the cancellation rule if you haven’t passed IntegrityMatters in time.
What the test is based on
There’s no workbook for it. The dilemmas come from CISI’s Integrity at Work in Financial Services books, volumes 1 to 4, and the Grey Matters articles in its magazine, The Review. The books cost £10 each in print, and reading them in MyCISI earns CPD hours.
The test isn’t timed and you can take it anywhere, so CISI says many candidates won’t need special arrangements, though it considers reasonable requests.
The CISI Code of Conduct
CISI members must meet the eight Principles of its Code of Conduct, which ask them to support the Institute’s values as well as follow the rules. The code is also called the Lord George Principles and is shared with the Worshipful Company of International Bankers. Members must log 1 to 3.5 hours of integrity and ethics CPD every year, depending on their grade.
