Bar study usually runs on a fixed date twice a year, so put your exam date in and work back from it. The planner spreads 28 lessons across the seven MBE subjects, from civil procedure to torts, over the days you have, then saves the last two days for our 20 practice questions and a redo of the ones you missed. It covers the multiple-choice side only, so plan essay and performance test practice on top.
Pick the date of your test and how long you can study each day. You’ll get a plan that takes you right up to the test.
How do you build a bar exam study plan?
- Check which exam your state gives on your date: legacy UBE, NextGen or its own.
- Put in your date and work through the lessons in order, one subject at a time.
- Add timed MBE practice from NCBE's free sample questions as you finish each subject.
- Write essays and performance tests under time each week, using NCBE's materials or your state's past exams.
- In the last weeks, do full timed sessions: 100 multiple-choice questions in 3 hours, the length of one MBE session.
