What can you do after the NBCOT login?
- As a student or candidate: apply for the exam, check its status, get NBCOT’s notices, use study tools you’ve bought, order score transfers and other services, and book your Pearson appointment with the Schedule My Appointment button.
- After your exam: see your result under Application History and your certification number.
- Once certified: log continuing education in the Renewal Log, use the professional development unit (PDU) calculator and Navigator, and complete your renewal application.
- Any time: change your address, email, phone or password under Edit Profile, or request a name change with a copy of your ID.
Creating a MyNBCOT account, once
- Go to nbcot.org, click Log In, then Create Account.
- Select “I have never been OTR or COTA certified” if you’re new.
- Fill in your details and click Submit.
- Open NBCOT’s email and validate your address to activate the account. Check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive.
Create the account only once, because NBCOT charges for a duplicate. If you’re retaking the exam, or you’re a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) moving on to the Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) exam, log in to the account you already have; the COTA exam page explains that step.
When you can’t sign in
- Forgotten password: use the Forgot Password? link on the login page.
- Not sure whether you have an account, or your Social Security number stops you making one: you may already have one. Contact NBCOT before creating another.
- Missing emails: NBCOT’s notices, including your Authorization to Test (ATT) letter, come from donotreply@nbcot.org and can land in spam.
- Still stuck: email info@nbcot.org or call during business hours.
Other study sites have their own logins
Companies that sell NBCOT prep, such as TherapyEd, TrueLearn and Pass the OT, run their own accounts on their own sites. Signing in to them doesn’t touch your MyNBCOT account. Study tools you buy from NBCOT itself open from your MyNBCOT account.
